Christmas Carol Service Gospel Message
The power of nostalgia means it can be misused or abused, but ultimately it is meant to lead us to Christ, the source of all goodness.

Acts 3:11-19 – Peter preaches a message of repentance and forgiveness to the crowd in the temple, giving us a model for our Gospel proclamation.
John 20:19-22 – The love of God poured into our hearts through the gift of the Holy Spirit is our underlying motive for evangelism.
John 19:38-42 – Nicodemus and Joseph were transformed by witnessing Christ’s death on the cross. Nicodemus was converted and became an extravagant worshipper. Joseph was miraculously emboldened.
Harvest Festival points us to the goodness of God in creation, the unique role that human beings play in God’s plans and to the paradoxical beauty and brokenness in the world around us. Each of these show us how Jesus Christ fulfils our deepest needs and offers us salvation.
John 17:6-12 – As Jesus begins to pray for his disciples he says that they have come to believe 4 specific things about him. These form a fundamental part of Apostolic Christology.
John 17:1-5 – Praying for the coming events of the Easter Weekend and his Ascension, Jesus asks the Father to be glorified so he can commence his Kingly reign to bring glory to the Father. During the Son’s kingly reign until his return, the Father is chiefly glorified in the salvation of men and women.
Heaven is not some airy fairy place. The hope of Christians is something far more wonderful, and tangible!
